Description
-
CAN-bus data reading
It can read standard CAN signals — speed, RPM, fuel level, temperature, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), etc. -
Wireless / Remote Connectivity
Many CanBoxes have built-in capabilities like GSM / GPRS / LTE / IoT SIM card, WiFi, or Bluetooth so they can send data remotely (for telemetry or fleet monitoring). -
Simulators / Virtual Cars
Some versions allow you to simulate a vehicle’s electrical system. This means you can connect certain electrical modules (speedometer, key switch, etc.) without physically putting them into a car — useful for testing or key programming. -
Fault / Diagnostic Code Reporting
The box can detect and report codes from the CAN‐bus, often decoding into human-readable form. -
Data Logging & Dashboard / App Portal
Data is logged; dashboards / portals/apps view the data. Useful for monitoring fuel usage, engine hours, service intervals, etc. -
Low Power Consumption / Sleep Modes
To avoid draining vehicle battery, many devices sleep when ignition is off; wake up when needed. -
Extras
Depending on model: RFID or driver ID modules, external sensor inputs (temperature, fuel probes, pressure), analogue/digital/PWM I/O, power detection, etc. -
Durability / Ruggedized Build
Because many are used in harsh conditions (fleet vehicles, heavy equipment), they may have IP rating, rugged casing, wide voltage input ranges, etc.
